About me
Art and architecture are my two main passions in life, I have always loved drawing buildings and urban landscapes. Living on the outskirts of London, the city has always fascinated me. Throughout my life, I've sought to capture its essence through photography, sketching, and drawing as much as possible.
I studied architecture in Manchester for a total of five years, plus a one-year placement in Shoreditch. After completing my Masters, I felt rather disillusioned by the architecture profession. While I still loved the design and creative aspects, I couldn’t see myself working in that kind of environment. So, during the pandemic, following a brief stint working for a whisky company, I decided to take the risk of turning my hobby and passion for art into a full-time job.
Initially, I was intrigued by how buildings are warped and distorted in the reflections of glass facades. However, after a short series of drawings, I wanted to broaden the scope of my artwork to encompass the diversity of London’s architecture. That's where the initial seed of the idea to draw all of London originated.
About the project
What is ‘Drawing All Of London’? The aim of the project is simple, I am going to draw all of the buildings in London. You may think I will only be drawing Central London, however I plan to draw the whole Greater London area, every single building. This may take a lifetime to reach a completion of 100%, but I am determined to undertake this endeavour until all of London has been drawn.
I see London as the perfect city to draw in its entirety, not just for my deep personal links, but due to its rich history and distinct architecture. I hope to take a snapshot of London’s long lifetime, by drawing the city in the span of my own lifetime. I see London as one of, if not the greatest city on the planet, I may be slightly bias, however I believe there is no greater reason to draw every building this city has to offer.
